Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo
Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo was founded in 1974 as a company set on changing the of traditional ballet. Gone are the rigid standards of the genre and in their place stands a more comedic and light-hearted take on this esteemed style of dance. Fondly known as the Trocks, they put their own unique twist on classical ballet by placing men in all of the roles, even those traditionally reserved for women. While this sudden boost of testosterone adds a humorous tone to their performances, don’t think that this means their technical prowess is not up to par. Their effortless grand jetes seem to defy both gravity and audience preconceptions, adding to the unexpected gracefulness evident throughout their
performances.
